A FABLE ABOUT DEATH
This work is an allegory of mortality. While the King flees in panic to save his earthly wealth, and the Pope begs in terror, the Hermit calmly holds Death’s hand like an old friend. On top, a child sits fearless, still carrying the pure energy of the origin.
At the center is a self-portrait: a woman embracing and making love with Death. She doesn’t submit; she rides. This duality is the core of the piece: you cannot truly feel alive if you run away from death. To be fully awake in this world, you must be intimate with the end.
